Wide-format print equipment supplier South East Drawing Office (SEDO) is focusing on customer need with the introduction of a back-up printing service, Disaster Recovery. Available immediately and exclusive to SEDO clients, companies can request a variety of graphic arts and CAD jobs in case of an unforeseen situation that prevents them from being able to deliver.
Disaster Recovery recognises that every machine experiences downtime over its working life, whether anticipated or unexpected. SEDO launches this service having trialled it informally for several months, protecting the reputation of its customer base by bridging gaps left by spare parts delivery or under-capacity.
The London-based, family-led reseller offers a variety of digital print services at a competitive trade rate. Using its array of Xerox, Epson, Kip, Mutoh and Canon print engines in combination with a broad range of substrates and finishing equipment, SEDO can provide various products, from banners and booklets to point-of-sale and posters. Platforms include aqueous, eco-solvent, latex, dye-sublimation and direct-to-textile, covering the vast majority of applications required by its client businesses.
“Last year one of our customers had a major outage and a large job for a major new client was at risk,” explains Andy McGuinness, director, SEDO. “We immediately stepped in to fill the gap, meaning our customer didn’t lose their account. It can cause a lot of frustration and worry for printers when a head-strike or part failure happens out of the blue.
“Disaster Recovery takes that stress away. At a time when print houses are conscious to foster customer loyalty, they know that there can be no delays in delivery, especially with retailers, architects and others that demand fast turnaround. As a family business, SEDO realises the importance of customer service in particular and is dedicated to finding new ways to make that a reality.”
