If you’ve got a Summa S Class 2 cutter, you might be interested to hear about the release of the G-Performance mode. It will enhance the speed and performance of your digital finishing operations on your S Class 2 roll cutters by up to 40%. Want to know more? Keep reading…
Save time, save money
Cutters are a vital stage in the print process, and Summa are recognised the world over for their high-quality devices. However, rather than rest on their laurels, Summa is on a continuing mission to respond to the needs of its customers by adding new levels of functionality to its cutters – and particularly in the area of speeding up production, making the process easier and keeping costs down.
Hence the advent of G-Performance mode. This mode has been specifically designed to speed up digital finishing operations, transforming the S Class 2 cutter into a lean, mean and even faster cutting machine than it already is. Regardless of whether your cutter uses tangential or drag knife technology, G-Performance mode works with every cutter in the range from the smallest to the largest. But it’s not only about speed. The new mode will enable your cutter to read registration marks, so it will be able to make the perfect cut even with print deformations – while working even faster!
With production time slashed by up to 40% and superior performance, costs will be reduced substantially. But what makes it even better is that the G-Performance mode is available as a free unlock on new machines, while even pre-2018 machines can take advantage of the benefits as well. It’s time to get boosted!
More free features for your Summa
Summa is constantly strengthening their existing product range by releasing new features. Here are some of the recent enhancements for the S Class 2 cutters:
• Short load – this new feature ensures that less material is forwarded in order to avoid possible material obstructions. Basically, short load means that the material won’t touch the floor or be hindered by obstructions, so less waste of material – saving you money and benefiting the environment.
• Dog ear function – this update in S2 intelligence means that pleated corners, or dog ears, will be avoided during loading. Using the dog ear function means that the head will first position itself on top of the media and then move to the right side afterwards to start cutting, avoiding pleated corners. A clean cut means less waste.
• OPOS XY2 – OPOS registers multiple marks along a job and now, with the OPOS XY2 function, the additional XY line at the end of the job will also be read, allowing for even more contour cut accuracy than before, especially for large jobs. Perfect for unsurpassed accuracy and impeccable precision.
• Informative screensaver – instead of the Summa logo, the screensaver will now be showing tips and information to help users get the best out of their Summa cutter.
